A specially designed Expendable Cutting Shoe requires the use of an O-ring which temporarily locks the cutting shoe in the Expendable Cutting Shoe Holder. This locking O-ring system helps eliminate problems when sampling in saturated sands. This also prevents the Expendable Cutting Shoe from being unintentionally released from the Expendable Cutting Shoe holder. This cutting shoe was designed specifically for setting monitoring wells.
The DT325 Dual Tube Soil Sampling System, designed for use with 3.25 in. rods, uses a unique combination of the cutting shoe, sheath, and liner retainer to allow efficient recovery of samples in formations ranging from plastic clays to saturated sands. The DT325 system was designed to quickly recover samples even below the water table. Problems with liner failure or having the liner lodge in the sample sheath are virtually eliminated with this system. Light-Weight Center Rods are used to recover cores with this system, a feature that really adds to the speed of sampler recovery.

A Liner Retainer, with threads identical to the Sheath Drive Head, is stronger and prevents the retainer from fusing to the Sample Sheath. Liners for the DT325 sampler are clear PVC with an integral core catcher fused to one end. This new configuration maximizes sample recovery while minimizing entrance losses. It's also proven to be very robust in use. The DT325 Liner Cutter, designed specifically for DT325 liners, premits safe, simple, and quick cutting of the liners for sample logging.

A filled liner is removed from the DT325 Sample Sheath. Field Teams will see improved sample recovery and better performance in the field with this sampling system. This soil sampling system was designed to be used with Geoprobe® Light-Weight Center Rods.
